Bhubaneswar: June 18: Three staffs, including two nurses belonging to Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR) have been transferred on Saturday to other departments. According to sources, among them one has been transferred to the Surgery Department and the other two to the Medicine Department.
This decision has been taken on the basis of primary investigation report conducted by an internal investigation committee including two doctors of VIMSAR. The final steps against the accused would be taken after the final investigation report prepared, informed official of VIMSAR.
The incident was happened on May 21st, at VIMSAR when Gagan Patra and his wife Rina Patra alleged that their baby girl had been swapped for a dead infant. After DNA test it was confirmed that they were the biological parents of the living child, post which the child was handed over to her parents by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Sambalpur.
