Bus fare goes up further due to price hike of Petrol and Diesel

Bhubaneswar: 18th June: Bus fare hike annoys the people of Odisha. Considering the Petrol and Diesel price hike by the Union Government, the Private Bus Owner Association demanded to raise the Bus Fare. In accordance with the Involuntary Fare Regulation Mechanism, today the State Government has increased the bus fare for all kinds of Traveller Buses.

The Commerce and Transport department has notified that there is an increase of 1 paisa per km for ordinary and express buses and 2 paisa per km for Deluxe and AC buses. 60 paisa per km changed to 61 paisa for Ordinary buses whereas for express buses 63paisa changed to 64 paisa per km. For Deluxe buses, the price 84 paisa changed to 86 paisa per km and for AC buses Rs 1.05/km changed to Rs 1.07/km.
The difficulty is visible to everyone and can clearly be visible that due to the rise of Petrol and Diesel price, the Bus Fares have risen and will continue to remain the same, if the issue is not solved. The Inflation and Deflation of Bus Fare is based on the increase and decrease of the fuel prices. In this year, it is the sixth time where we see the rise in Bus fare.
