Bhubaneswar, May 3: The unemployed BEd. and Certificate in Teaching pass outs today staged a demonstration in front of the state assembly protesting govt.’s action of engaging retired teachers through guest teacher’s scheme and demanded permanent appointments for vacant posts. In a view, the agitated teachers also gave a 7-day warning to the government, stating to issue notification for appointment for the vacant posts.
Over 1000s of BEd and CT teachers were seen protesting at the spot, accusing the government of being insensitive towards their problem. Talking to the media, president of Unemployed CT and BEd Degree Holders’ Association, Santosh Sethy said, the govt is appointing retire teachers, rather while 1000s of eligible bachelors are still unemployed.
Notably, over 50000 BEd and CT candidates are going through unemployment, while nearly 48000 teachers’ posts are lying vacant in government schools across the state.
