Unknown Disease in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: More than 500 people of 200 families of a village in Malkangiri district of Odisha have been found affected with an unknown disease. This medical condition has been witnessed in the Podia village under Podia Tehsil of the district.

As per reports, initially, there was swelling of the hands and feet, followed by pain in the knees and joints. Along with this, there was fever.

The villagers have informed that even after treatment, there is constant pain in the knees and joints. All the test reports have come negative leaving the cause of the disease unknown. Suspicions point towards a possible viral outbreak.

It is suspected that it is spread by a virus. The villagers have urged the authorities to dispatch a special medical team to assess the situation and provide necessary assistance.
