Uri Martyr’s death: CM announces Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia and pension for family

Bhubaneswar, Sept 27: On Monday, extending help towards the family of Odia soldier Patibas Majhi who died in the Uri terrorist attack, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh and monthly pension of Rs 2000 for the family members of Majhi.

As per sources, out of the Defence and Para-Military Personnel Relief Fund, Rs 5 lakh was paid to the family while the rest was paid from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Notably, Pitabas Majhi was a BSF jawan belonging to the Danajhala village of Nuapada.  He had been killed on Sept 18 during a combing operation following a terrorist attack on an army camp in Uri of Jammu and Kashmir.
