Bolangir, Sept 3: On Friday the vigilance sleuths arrested the executive engineer of Rural Development department, Debendra Patnaik when he on his way to Angul with heavy sums allegedly acquired illegally.
The accused was heading home in a Scorpio carrying around Rs 4.58 lakh cash. The anti – corruption team seized the money after the accused failed to give a satisfactory reply to the incident.
The vehicle in which he was travelling was also seized. DSP (vigilance), Abhiram Kar said the source of the money will be investigated.
