Cuttack, Dec 23: On Thursday around 20 wild elephants damaged numerous crops of the villagers belonging to Sarkoili, Athgarh. In the afternoon, after the wild jumbos destroyed everything, they moved inside the forests. However, villagers allege that this happened due to the negligence on the part of the forest department as inspite of the villagers request to repair the solar fencing, the department did not pay any heed to it. Now the villagers have nothing to reap as everything they had finished. On the other side, the forest officials stated that the repair work of the fence has being carried out. The same has been informed to the government and repair work will begin as soon as possible.
