A woman from Odisha arrested for cheating different people through several fake Facebook accounts. Allegedly, she was operating a racket in Bhubaneswar and targeting youth through the fake fakebook accounts created in the name of girls.
As identified, she is Priyanka Priyadarshini Parida, resident of Nachuni area in the Khorda district.
She used to identify herself either as a doctor, engineer, beautician or IT professional for developing relationships with people.
Sources said, Police has arrested the accused and seized her account, ATM cards, passbooks & cheque books.
Police arrested her based on a complaint by a victim identified as Shakti Saurabh Mohapatra of Unit-1 area at the Saheed Nagar Police Station.
As alleged, Priyanka identified herself as a medical student on Facebook and developed a relationship with Shakti Saurabh. She had also put an image of a beautiful girl on the said Facebook account.
Sourabh became close to her through face book chats & all. Gradually, accused started extracting money from Sourabh and as said, so far she has taken 6.5 Lakh from Shakti Sourabh.
As per the complaint, after taking Rs 6.5 lakh, she did not receive his call. Finally, he could know her identity and asked her to return the amount, but she did not pay.
