Balasore, Jan 30: In connection to the brutal murder of four persons including three of a family at Paganai here, yesterday the police disclosed that 14 miscreants have a hand in this crime. To eliminate Pratibha Mandal, six out of the total 14 miscreants entered the woman’s house while eight others guarded outside between 2 am and 4 am on Jan 28. Upon beheading Pratibha, the miscreants were undecided whether to kill the other three in the house. But due to a fear of being caught, the miscreants stabbed her son, daughter and a relative’s son to death while they were sleeping. The Balasore district police have got hold of vital clues regarding the murder during interrogation of five persons, detained by them. The cops have sent two teams outside the state suspecting that the assailants might have fled. It’s suspected that there was a land dispute between the families of Kanhu Majhi and Anita Majhi. Four persons including elder son of Anita were arrested regarding Kanhu’s murder case occurred on Oct 27. It is likely that Kanhu’s family targeted Pratibha as her brother was helping the family of Anita in getting bail.
