Tragedy struck on National Highway-16 near Gangapada in Bhubaneswar on Friday, as a woman lost her life in a devastating accident witnessed by her own child.
Reports say the woman was riding her scooter when she lost control and tumbled onto the road. In a heartbreaking turn, a speeding hyva truck struck her from behind, claiming her life instantly.
Her son, who was with her at the time, suffered severe injuries in the crash. He was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Bhubaneswar. His condition is reported to be critical.
Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.
