Berhampur, May 11: In a tragic incident, a woman identified as Santoshi Sambari was found hanging from a tree near her house at Tantisahi in Ganjam district, early today.
After being informed, the police reached the spot and recovered her body and sent it for post mortem. In the meanwhile, the police has detained Santoshi’s husband Jagannath and are interrogating him.
Earlier, Santoshi had allegedly branded her daughter with a hot iron rod, angry upon which, Jagannath also branded Santoshi in the same way and leading to this she took the extreme step, alleged source. In the meanwhile, however, Santoshi’s family parents have alleged that she has been killed by her in-laws.
Notably, Santoshi a native of Chheligada village in Gajapati district had married to Jagannath 4 years back and the duo has a 3-yr old daughter.
