Sundergarh, Nov 24: On November 1, victim Gubai Munda was killed by a contract killer at her residence for just rupees 4000 by tying a wire to her throat tightly, noticed by her 8-yr-old son, who ran into the forest as the killer chased to murder him too. The killer was hired by her husband, in order of being unsupportive to his spouse’s extramarital affairs.
The incident came into limelight after 22 days when police started investigating about the incident after the victim’s elder sister registered a case yesterday with the Lahunipara PS. Sundargarh police on Wednesday arrested Gubai’s husband, Mengala Munda, the accused and interrogated. However the Killer was on run. Mengala confessed in front of the police about been conspiring the complete event along with his lover and giving contract to a contract killer named Rathu Munda with a advance payment of 2000 rupees.
According to sources Gubai was married to Mengala for 10 years. In spite of Gubai’s regular opposition to Mengala’s illicit relation with his ex lover, he was in no way to end it, leading to regular fights between the two.
A scientific team from Rourkela has recovered the remains of the body of the woman after they arrived and have accelerated the investigation process.
