Bhubaneswar, Aug 31: Over the insensible remark of the Petroleum Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan comparing the Odisha government’s ‘teacher on call’ policy with ‘Ola’ and ‘Uber’ taxi service, the state government yesterday sought to settle it by calling it a scheme that had been suggested by the NDA government at the Centre. BJD justified its minister’s comment by saying that the same policy has been taken up by the BJP in some of its ruled state.

Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who initiated the war of words with the BJD government over his ‘Ola, Uber’ comment two days ago enquired whether the Centre had suggested appointment of teachers on contract instead of filling up regular posts. He also asked for a detailed report on vacancies in schools.

However, vice president of BJP’s Odisha unit, Sameer Mohanty criticized BJD for misinterpreting Pradhan’s statement.
