Bhubaneswar, Aug 20: Today Union Telecommunications Minister, Manoj Sinha will be attending the native place of Chandan Hajuri, famous as Chakhi Khuntia, at the Harachandi Sahi in Puri town.
This visit would be a part of the second phase of BJP’s “Yaad Karo Kurbani” in the state. It’s stated that the minister would reach Sakhigopal at 10.45 today to offer floral tributes to the Panchasakha. Along with that he would also be paying tribute to the statue of Gopabandhu in front of Sakhigopal temple after which he will then proceed to Chandanpur in a bike rally. Then, on his way to Chandanpur, he will be offering floral tributes to Jayi Rajguru. Later, he will also hold discussions with the family members of Chakhi Khuntia. He will also be visiting the Sri Jagannath temple in Puri and offer puja to the deities. He will also be attending an ‘Ujjwala Yojna’ programme.
Under the ‘Yaad Karo Kurbani’ programme organized by the BJP to give tribute to freedom fighters all over the country, two Union Ministers, Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram visited Sambalpur and Consumer Affairs Minister Chhotu Ram Chaudhary visited Dhenkanal in Odisha on Wednesday. To pay tribute to freedom fighter Veer Surendra Sai, Minister Oram visited Khinda village in Sambalpur and was accompanied by senior leader Suresh Pujari. A rally was organised for their visit in the village.
On the other hand, Minister Chaudhary visted Nilakanthapur village in Bhuban block of Dhenkanal, birth place of Baji Rout, and paid his tributes. A bike rally had been organised by the members of the BJP from Baji Chouk to Bhuban. Party leader Rudrapani and Dhenkanal district unit president were also present in the occasion.
Notably, the programme ‘Yaad Karo Kurbani’, which was started by the BJP on August 9, will culminate on August 23. As per the programme, Union Ministers are visiting native places of freedom fighters of various States.
