Rourkela: In a shocking and rare incident a youth allegedly killed his father in Sundergarh district of Odisha today. The incident took place in the Bhalupatra village under Bramhanitaranga Police Station limits in the district. The son has been detained by Police.
The deceased has been identified as 55 year old Kanti Kumar Verma. The accused son has been identified as Bishnu.
As per reports, Kanti Kumar Verma, who lives with his family in Bhalupatra village under Bramhanitaranga police station, was sent to jail after killing his wife due to a family dispute.
In December 2024, he returned from jail. He used to argue and fight with his son Bishnu and the local residents. However, the villagers did not say anything to Kanti Kumar duet to fear, as he was a jail returned person.
However, today the father was found dead. From Police investigation it has been found that his son killed his father with the help of a sharp weapon while Kranti was walking on the road this morning. It has been learnt that the son allegedly killed his father to take revenge of his mother’s death for which Kranti had been sent to jail.
After getting information Brahminitarang police reached the spot and started investigation. The son Bishnu has been detained. Further probe of the case is underway.
