Sundargarh, Dec 14: A 12-hour band in district from dawn to dusk called by the DCC and Rourkela Organisational District Congress in protest of delay of the probe for the black stole removal incident at CM’s meet in Sundargarh on 4th of December has created a major disruption in the daily life of people of the district.
Earlier yesterday, the congress had said that the Bandh will be all in a democratic manner, with the help of the locals, who had agreed to keep the shop and business houses closed. But today the members and activists of congress were seen forcibly closing the shops and business houses at the district while vehicular movements have also come to a halt. They have also staged road blockades at the NH near Panposh square at Rourkela which in case led to 100s of vehicles getting stranded on the roadside.
Despite CM patnaik’s order for probe into the black stole removal incident, no possible actions have yet been taken. this has led the opposition to protest again.
To be noted, earlier during the CM’s meet at Sundargarh on December 4, the security personnels were seen forcibly removing black coloured stoles, shawls and scarfs from women attending the rally. though many women opposed to it but were pushed by women guards and the mentioned clothes were removed forcibly.
