Keonjhar, Oct 9: In a case of influencing voters by paying them money and illegal donation collection, around 16 aides of Sanatan Mahakud, Champua MLA have been arrested by the Keonjhar police. Raids were conducted at various places at Champua, Barbil, Joda, Rugudi, Bamebari, Bolani and Sadar police station and 16 aides were arrested, informed DSP Harish Pandey. The raid had been conducted under the direction of the Police superintendent, he further added.
After the member of civil society complained about such incidents of distribution of money to the villagers, the action was initiated. As pert the information, the arrested person includes Girija Sjankar Sahoo, former BJD president of Champua, and Satyanand Karua.
