Balasore, Oct 9: Due to a rapid increase in the criminal activities and road accidents here the district police yesterday installed CCTV cameras to keep check on anti-social elements and traffic violators. Balasore SP Niti Sekhar informed that in the first phase four CCTV cameras have been installed at Phandi Chhak and more CCTVs are planned to be installed at locations such as Cinema Bazar, Motiganj, ITI Square, Police Line Square, Station Square and ADM Square. Regarding the arrangements made for safety during Durga Puja, he further stated that 40 platoons of police force and plain-clothed policemen have been deployed in the town and bike patrolling in the town has also began.
