Jagatsinghpur/Barbil, Jan 28: Late last night near Gadama Bazaar in Raghunathpur here passengers of a car had been allegedly looted at gun point. The looters had snatched valuables such as gold rings and mobile phones.
Yesterday at 2 am, Tapas Mallick, Pradeep Kumar Samal, Manindra Rout and the car’s driver were returning to Paradip from Cuttack. It was then when some miscreants attacked the car and looted the valuables. One of the looters had beat Mallick’s forehead with the pistol butt and snatched three gold rings, watches and purses that had the bank cheques. The passengers later spoke to the Kujang police after they reached Paradip.
On the other hand, late last night, some robbers broke open the store’s shutters and robbed off more than Rs 5 lakh from a jewelry shop loacted at Barbil in Keonjhar. After getting information, the cops have started investigating with the help of the forensic team and sniffer dog squad.
