CM inaugurates 100 godowns and gives free cell phones to women farmers

 Bhubaneswar, Aug 12: As part of the Cooperative Department’s initiative to strengthen the Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society (PACS), Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated hundred new godowns through video conference at the Secretariat on Friday. Having the storage capacity of 41,425 MT, the godowns are constructed at the PACS by the Cooperation Department for storage of fertilizer, seeds and harvested paddy.

Under this programme, 41,000 mobile phones would be given to women Kissan credit card holders. Stating this, CM on the inauguration function, has given mobile phones to 10 women.

This programme has started to deliver all requirements of the Farming Community, dissension of agriculture credit, storage and distribution of fertilisers and seeds and procurement of surplus agricultural produces at minimum selling price (MSP), department officials informed.

On this inauguration ceremony, Dr Damodar Rout, Cooperation and Excise Minister, Pradeep Maharathy, Agriculture Minister, Finance Minister Pradeep Amat were present. Along with them Many MLAs, secretaries of various departments also were present.
