Jajpur, Sept 3: Yesterday a junior engineer named Madhusudan Das of Panikoili Rural Development department in the district was arrested for allegedly abetting a woman RI’s suicide.
The accused had developed love affairs with former Revenue Inspector, Subhasmita Sahu of Tulati circle, thus trapping the RI in love, claiming him to be a bachelor. As soon as his marital status came to fore, Subhasmita went on to have a scuffle with Das which resulted in hanging herself on August 14. The father of the victim, Sanatan filed a FIR with the Police. He alleged that the engineer had blackmailed his daughter with the photographs that they both had clicked. He even purchased some properties using the money of his daughter. Thus, the IIC of Korei police, Chinmayee Sahoo said that the accused will be produced in court under section 306 of IPC.
On the other hand, the accused engineer refuted the allegations and said that all the photographs are fake claiming it to be a trap.
