Employees of Block Grant Teachers’ Association threatens to stage demonstration ahead of State Assembly on Sept 22

Bhubaneswar, Sept 9: On Thursday the teachers under the banner of Block Grant Teachers’ and Employees’ Association threatened to stage demonstration in front of the State Assembly on September 22 as a protest against the state government’s step of introducing the ‘Teacher on Call’ policy.

It’s stated that around 32,000 teachers and employees belonging to 2,208 schools across the state will be staging a dharna in front of the Assembly protesting the government’s step. At the meeting the teachers’ body had also demanded fulfillment of its 10 point charter of demands which include government status to all aided schools, uniformity in the payment and provision of all the facilities of to block grant teachers which are being offered under mass education and secondary education systems.
