Cuttack, Dec 17: In order to reduce the number of cyber-crimes happening in and around Odisha due to cashless transactions, a second cyber police station is likely to set up in the state capital very soon. Also a Cyber Forensic Division at the Cyber Forensic Laboratory will be commissioned by March, 2017.
This would be as a help in accelerating the cyber forensic examination process in the state. All this was informed by the Crime Branch Special DGP BK Sharma here today. He stated that all the police officials are being imparted information about the technicalities on Cyber-crime investigations and forensics. As of now there is a possibility of online fraud due to the excess use of card, e-banking and mobile banking in the coming days and so the police officials have also been made aware of the various technical skills which are to be utilized while investigation online crimes. ICICI Bank officials from Kolkata had been invited to sensitize the police authorities here on online frauds due to card transactions.
70 police officials of 36 police districts attended the meeting which was held at the police headquarters here. Bank officials were also present at the meeting.
