3 students killed in car-bike collision in Paralekhmundi, Odisha

Paralakhemundi, Jan 30: Shocked are the locals belonging to Narayanpur village in Gajapati district by the tragic death of three students in a road accident yesterday afternoon. They rushed to the spot and staged a road blockade demanding compensation of Rs 10 lakh to each family of the deceased. Berhampur-Mohana-Parlakhemundi road was halted due to this road block scenario.

Notably, three students of Narayanpur High School named Ricky Bhuhan (Class X), Rohit Pradhan (Class IX) and Niranjan Lima (Class IX) had gone to Gandahati waterfall on a Bajaj Pulsar bike (AP-31-A2-7176). Upon returning, a Datsun car heading from the opposite direction had a head-on collision with the bike. Two of them died on the spot and the third died on his way to the district headquarters hospital. After getting information, a police team led by Paralakhemundi SDPO, Utkal Ranjan Das  arrived immediately at the spot. Das said that efforts are on to arrest the car driver who after the accident fled from the spot.
