Balasore: June 21: Just after the Case of Baby Swapping had been bobbled at VIMSAR at Burla, another case of blood transfusion portraying carelessness on the part of the hospital authorities has come to the forefront.
Now, it’s been allegedly accused by the parents of Tazeen Parween that their three-year old baby girl belonging to Balasore, was infected with Hepatitis-C detected by the blood test report result in May at the SCB Medical College and Hospital after the process of blood transfusion to the child was conducted at the Balasore District headquarters Hospital . Her Father, Sheik Sujid Alam, holding his tears back reported to the media person that since their daughter was suffering from Thalasemia, they had to visit the SCB Medical College and Hospital located in Cuttack to get their daughter’s blood test done every six months after the transfusion of blood to his girl at the Balasore District Headquarters Hospital. It was in May that it had been detected through the reports that the child was infected with Hepatitis-C. On being asked for an answer to the Cuttack hospital officials they washed their hands off saying it happened due to the last blood transfusion.
It is learnt, authorities at Balasore hospital have sent the blood sample of Parween to New Delhi for further test. District administration is waiting for the report to come for further course of action.
