Bhubaneswar, Oct 14: On Friday, addressing the media persons in connection with the scheduled date of High School Certificate (HSC) Examination 2017, Debi Prasad Mishra, School and Mass Education Minister said that the HSC examinations will be conducted at an appropriate date keeping in view of the Panchayat polls in February next year.
Mishra further informed that the results of the examination will also be published at the right time in accordance with the scheduled date of the examination.
Meanwhile, Sushanta Kumar Das, Board of Secondary Education (BSE) President said no examination can be conducted during the election, as schools are used as voting booths and the teachers will be engaged in the election process.
He further informed that the Examination Committee of the Board has conducted some meetings in view of the Panchayat poll. The date for the HSC examination will be finalized after a meeting with the Examination Committee, he further added.
Rabindra Nath Sahoo, State Election Commission (SEC) Secretary had earlier informed that the School and Mass Education Department and BSE have been asked to fix a convenient date to hold the HSC examination next year so that the future of about 6 lakh students appearing for the examination does not suffer and the Panchayat poll can also be conducted smoothly.
