Puri, Jan 17: On Monday the Puri police confirmed the fact that Nibedita Behera, the wife of advocate and lodge owner, Chandan Behera had planned a conspiracy to eliminate her husband over the property dispute. The cops have arrested Nibedita and four others for having a hand in the murder. Till now, eight have been arrested for their suspected involvement in the murder. The Puri Superintendent of Police, Sarthak Sarangi informed the media that Nibedita along with the main accused, Narandranath Das aka Litu had conspired the plan on Jan 5 to eliminate Chandan. He elaborately stated that at the time of investigation and interrogating the hotel staff, the fact came to fore that Nibedita, the wife of the deceased is involved in the murder of Chandan. She was frequently coming to Puri from Rourkela without the knowledge of her husband. She had stayed at Puri from Dec 20 to Jan 5 and during the stay she had hatched the conspiracy with Litu. The associates of Litu have executed Chandan. Few days back, Nibedita had prepared a legal document and given it to Litu along with the power of attorney of her properties. Asked about the involvement of other persons in the sensitive case, he said the case is open and police is investigating the matter.
