Devotees swarm the temples on the occasion of Maha Shivratri

Bhubaneswar, Feb 24: The over crowded yet un-ending queues of devotees at the Shiva temples across the capital city, mark the celebrations of the Maha Shivratri today. Devotees at the Lingaraj temple are seen, been standing in queues since early morning today just to get a darshan of the Lord Shiva.

With the big festival of the day, security has been heavily tightened at almost every temple in the city. The commissionerate police has also set up barricades inside and outside the compound of Lingaraj temple, while CCTV surveillance is on to keep an eye on any untoward situation.

As of sources, the Jagara will be held today evening onwards, till the Maha Deep rises atop the temples. At Lingaraj temple the Maha deep will be taken atop at around 10 pm.
