Dy Labour Commissioner Caught Red handed, talking bribe

Kalahandi, Feb 24: In a shocking incident, the district Deputy Labour Commissioner Dinabandhu Adhikari was yesterday caught red handed by the State Vigilance team while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a person, for releasing the ex-gratia funds announced for his dead brother.

According to sources, Sarat Dora, the victim Madhusudan Dora’s brother died during a factory Mishap on May 21, 2016 in Mumbai. The company had released some compensation funds on his name for the family which was in the form of fixed deposit bonds in the custody of the district labour official. For releasing the funds, Adhikari was asking for a bribe of Rs 40,000 to them.

Early yesterday while Madhusadan and his accompany took the help of the vigilance and went to the labour official and handed him over Rs 20,000, and thesis when he was caught red handed.

In the meanwhile, investigation is on. Raids at the commissioners residence at Bhubaneswar and Ganjam is on the way.
