Baripada, Mar 5: In a shocking happening, a newly elected samiti member identified as Hadibandhu Naik was attacked with acid by some unknown miscreants over a election rivalry at Jharapokharia in Mayurbhanj today. The incident took place at night while he was sleeping. But Naik narrowly escaped the attack as he was covered with a blanket, though slight parts of his face were affected.
He was suddenly shifted to the Baripada DHH. The police after being informed have lodged an FIR and investigating further to the matter.
