Accused In Baburam Panda Murder Case Absconding Since 7 Years Arrested

Bhubaneswar, August 26: In an outstanding development, the Odisha Police have executed as many as 4945 non-bailable warrants during a 10-day special drive in the state, says Odisha police in a number of tweets.

The drive that ended on 25th of this month, led to arrests of around 850 persons in Ganjam, 278 each in Kandhamal and Cuttack, 645 in Balasore, 54 in Sundargarh & 547 in Khorda.

To maintain peace and order during the Durga Puja celebrations, this drive was mandatorily required, said sources. Many accused, absconding since ages have been arrested during the course, added sources.

The main accused in the Baburam Panda murder case absconding since 7 years was arrested on the 19th of this month, Sources.

In another outstanding incident, the Purighat Police team has arrested an accused after 35 years, who was absconding since 1986.
