Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, a woman attempted suicide in front of the Jaydev Bhavan near the assembly. Police arrested the woman while she was pouring petrol on her body. The woman is said to be from Kujang area of Jagatsinghpur. The woman and her son, who attempted suicide, were reportedly arrested by Commissionerate police. The reason of suicide is yet to be known.
‘Attempting self-immolation near Assembly it is no less than a crime. So whoever tries to do so or prompts somebody for doing so, will be arrested. It will be considered as criminal offense and the police will take action accordingly’, DCP warned.
Despite this, two people have been trying to commit suicide in front of the Legislative Assembly since yesterday.
