50 BJP activists into preventive custody by police ahead of BJD rally over Mahanadi issue

Dhenkanal, Aug 2: Ahead of a rally scheduled to be organized by the ruling BJD in Dhenkanal in order to protest over the Mahanadi issue, 50 BJP activists were detained and taken into preventive custody by the police when both the BJP and BJD came face to face over the Manamunda incident. Among the 50, former MP, Rudra Narayan Pani and a party councilor were among them.  

It’s stated that the rally over Mahanadi issue will be addressed by ministers, Prafulla Mallick and Sanjay Dasburma. Around six platoons of police force have been deployed in the city and police had also conducted a flag march in the morning.
