New Delhi, Dec 8: At least 57 Army personnel have laid down their lives since December 1 last year in the fight against terrorism, the government today said.
From June 1 to November 27 this year, 38 Army personnel got martyred and 49 Army personnel got non-fatal injuries, Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit Singh told the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday.
He added that from December 1, 2014 to November 27, 57 Army personnel have attained martyrdom in fight against terrorists.
In reply to another question, the minister said there has been 151 ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the LoC (Line of Control) and the IB (International Border) under the operational control of Army from January 1 to November 30.
He added that there were 249 ceasefire violations along the IB under the operation control of BSF from January 1 to October 31.
He said that six Army personnel were martyred during the ceasefire violations along the LoC in the said period.
