Bhubaneswar, Dec 08: The five-day Gopalpur beach festival would begin from December 24. The Ganjam district administration has started preparations in full swing to organise festival with pump and joy.
A preparatory meeting for the ensuing festival was held at Revenue Divisional Commissioner (Southern Division) office here to chalk out strategies. Higher Education Minister and local MLA and the festival committee chairman Pradeep Panigrahy attended the meeting.
RDC Bhaskarjyoti Sharma said administration’s main focus would be to attract more tourists this year, besides promoting the annual festival.
Among others, MLAs Dr RC Choupatnaik, Dr Priyansu Pradhan, Ganjam Collector Prem Chand Choudhury, Berhampur Development Authority (BDA) Chairman Subash Maharana, DIG Amitav Thakur, Berhampur SP Dr Sarthak Sadangi, Deputy Mayor Jyotshna Nayak and other officials were present in the meeting.
