7 Girl Students fall ill In Odisha’s Bolangir District After Doing Sit-Ups
Bhubaneswar: April 11: Seven girl students of Bapuji High School in Patnagarh area of Bolangir, fell ill after they were asked to do sit-ups as punishment for allegedly reaching school late.
As per the report, the students reached school late for the prayer session and they were asked to do sit-ups as punishment. They all fell unconscious following the punishment and were admitted to hospital for treatment. Their condition became stable after receiving treatment.

Odisha School and Mass Education (S&ME) Minister Samir Ranjan Dash directed a probe into allegations of punishment to the girl students in Bolangir district.
Worth mentioning, all schools in Odisha have been declared as punishment-free zone.
