84 people die in communal violence this year till October

New Delhi, Dec 17: There were 650 communal incidents in the country this year till October in which 84 people lost their lives.

Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju told the Rajya Sabha that 438 communal incidents were reported in the country during January to July 2015 in which 66 persons were killed and 1,427 people were injured.

Rijiju said between August and October this year, there were 212 incidents of communal violence in which 18 people lost their lives.
