To increase the use of technology in education in India, a meeting was held on Monday between Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Arvind Krishna, Global CEO and Chairman of IBM (International Business Machines Corporation), one of the world’s oldest and most prominent IT companies, through a video call.

The meeting mainly focused on realizing the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and modernizing India’s education sector in partnership with IBM. The discussion focused on how to incorporate cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing into education, research, and innovation in India.

In particular, there was extensive discussion on how IBM can partner with the Ministry of Education to advance the country’s vision of making AI education ubiquitous and of creating a strong talent pool for key technologies such as Quantum Computing.

The Ministry of Education is committed to making this technology accessible to every nook and corner of the country, from premier institutions to colleges in remote areas. This initiative will strengthen India as a global technology hub and create limitless opportunities and possibilities for Indian youth.

The Consulate General of India attended the meeting, along with Ambassador Vinay Srikant Pradhan, Secretary, Ministry of School and Higher Education, Directors of IIT and IISc, Bangalore, and many other senior officials.
