On Friday, Nayapalli Police apprehended five suspects linked to the murder of Jitendra Das, known as Bablu, in Bhubaneswar’s Unit-8 last month. This development represents a significant leap forward in unraveling the brutal crime that ended Bablu’s life.
The accused have been identified as Chandu, Kalia, China, Raja, and Rajesh. According to police sources, each individual has multiple criminal cases registered against them, suggesting a pattern of unlawful activity. Following these arrests, law enforcement has increased efforts to disrupt criminal networks in the area.
Investigations indicate that the incident took place on December 27, when Bablu was parking his vehicle in front of his residence. At that moment, he was reportedly attacked by seven individuals armed with lethal weapons. The assailants carried out a violent and premeditated assault, resulting in critical injuries to Bablu. He was transported to a private hospital and received treatment for several days before succumbing to his injuries on January 1.
Previously, two suspects had already been detained in the case. The recent arrests bring the total number of those in custody to 7.
Police officials stated that the investigation is ongoing to identify additional individuals involved in the crime and to collect further evidence.
