Bhubaneswar, Jan 13: the Plus III course would continue to remain under the Higher Education Department, while the Plus II course would be brought under the School and Mass Education Department said Higher Education Minister Pradeep Panigrahi while speaking at a workshop on ‘Improvement of Quality in Higher Education’ on Tuesday.
Gracing the occasion as the chief guest, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid emphasis on quality in higher education and said the State Government has taken significant initiatives like setting up model colleges and introduction of e-admission.
A total of 100 newly-recruited Junior Lecturers were handed over appointment letters while 100 laptops were distributed to meritorious Plus II students on the occasion.
Among others, Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patsani, MLAs Bijay Mohanty and Priyadarshi Mishra, Development Commissioner R Balkrishnan, Higher Education Principal Secretary G V Sarma and Utkal University VC Prof Ashok Das were present.
