Union govt to host two day national level coal mining workshop in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Jan 20: The Union govt to host a national-level workshop on monitoring of production and dispatch from captive coal mines on January 29 and 30 here. Seven states to participate in the workshop.

The workshop will be attended by Mines Secretaries of States like, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Jharkhand.

The Union Coal Secretary will chair the workshop and will also review the monitoring mechanism adopted by the States to curb illegal mining.

On the first day of the workshop the Union Coal Secretary will review the State Government’s performance in terms of mining activities and transparency on dispatch for an hour.

Meanwhile, the Odisha Mines Department is getting ready to highlight the measures taken by it to curb illegal mining activities before the Union Coal Secretary.
