Bhubaneswar: Seeking intervention into Utkal University PG Council decision over cancellation of students’ union elections at the campus this year, the varsity students met Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence on Sunday.

The students belonging to youth wing of ruling BJD appealed to Patnaik to reconsider the PG council decision and allow them to conduct the polls at the campus this year.

Yesterday, the students of the university had met Governor SC Jamir demanding students’ polls at the varsity premises.

The university authorities have decided not to hold the polls this year in view of the clashes and agitation inside the campus.
