Gajapati invokes Brahmins for ‘Shola Puja’ rituals

Puri: Gajapati Maharaj of Puri on Monday on the occasion of mulasthami and dwitibahana osa invoked the services of 16 brahmins to perform the ‘Sodash Puja’ ritual in different Shakti Peethas in Odisha.

These priests will now perform Chandi patha, Bishnu sahasranama patha, Devi sahasranama patha and Bhubaneswari sahasranama patha  during the sixteen days ahead of the Durga Puja on October 22.

The Peethas where these pujas will be conducted include the Bimala Temple in Puri, Bhubaneswri Peetha, Batamangala Peetha , Uttarayani Temple near Puri, Dakshinkali Temple, Alamchandi Peetha and Panchmukhi thakurani Peetha.

Including Brahmins, Paricchha, Deula Purohita,Secretary Mukti Mandapa Pandita Sabha and representative of Gobardhan Peetha Puri were present in Sri Nahara.

The Sri Jagannath Temple Administration also authorized these priests to supervise the rituals in these temples.
