Nalco Hospital, MHUs at Angul to be upgraded

BHUBANESWAR, FEB 6: In a bid to alleviate the patients’ hardship and improve medical facilities for both OPD and indoor patients, aluminium major Nalco has decided to renovate and upgrade its 60-bedded secondary level care hospital at Angul with required hi-tech machines and recruitment of specialists in various branches, company’s CMD Tapan Kumar Chand has said.

This apart, the OPD for villagers and three mobile health units (MHUs) of the company, which hold free camps every day in periphery villages, would be strengthened with induction of paediatric and medicine specialists, Chand said at the conclusion of his two-day visit to Nalco’s Smelter & Power Complex at Angul.

During his visit on Thursday, Chand addressed thousands of students of Saraswati Vidya Mandirs of Nalconagar and Angul; shared the Corporate Vision and new all-weather business model with the executives; and interacted with the representatives of various Unions and Associations for the inclusive growth of the company and its stakeholders, through productivity, profitability and credibility.

“Despite sluggish market, our metal production shall go up by 15 percent during 2015-16 and 20 to 25 percent in the next fiscal,” the CMD asserted after the reviews at all levels.

Addressing the students, parents and teachers of Saraswati Vidya Mandirs, Chand emphasized on extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, apart from academics, for the wholesome development of a child.

“Academic tests have their limitations, as they lead to more or less pre-determined answers. On the other hand, creativity and passion lead to different perceptions, beautiful expressions and outstanding achievements,” said the chief of Navratna Nalco.
