Jagatsinghpur, Feb 9: Police have forwarded to the court seven supporters of BJD MLA from Niali Pramod Mallick arrested on charges of vandalising Tirtol police station on Monday. The arrests were made after examination of CCTV footage, police sources said adding a case against the legislator has been registered and his vehicle seized.

However, the two political parties have formally not lodged any complaint over yesterday’s incident at Jeypore on the Cuttack-Paradip Road under Tirtol police limits as Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Paradip to dedicate the IOCL refinery.        Soon after the clash, BJD workers had allegedly barged into the Tirtol police station and ransacked the office alleging that police did not come to the rescue of the legislator when saffron party activists attacked him.
