Sambalpur, Feb 17: Five more Rapid Action Force battalion will be set up in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), DG Prakash Mishra said.
As many as 10 such battalions are there in the para military force.
On the sidelines of laying foundation stone for the CRPF Group centre at Basantpur in the district, Mishra said the increase is in view of the growing security concern.
The group centre for which the foundation stone was laid will be the second centre of the paramilitary force in Odisha. It will be constructed on a sprawling 236 acres land at an estimated cost of Rs 400 crore.
It will take at least four years for completion of the project, which will play a crucial role in combating Maoist menace in the State, Mishra said.
