Rourkela, Feb 27 : Salem Steel Plant defeated Durgapur Steel Plant by a margin of 13-10 in the finals to become the Champions of the Steel Plant Sports Board (SPSB) Inter Steel Plant Kabaddi Championship which concluded here on Friday.
ED (P&A) PK Pradhan was the Chief Guest in the concluding ceremony and presented the prizes to the winners and runners up team, best raider, catcher and defender and mementoes to the match officials.
GM (Town Services) SK Nayak, Arjun Awardee and former DGM (RSP) & Advisor (SPSB) Minati Mohapatra, and Advisor (SPSB) were present on the occasion.
In his address Pradhan congratulated the award winners and commended the efforts of the sports cell of RSP towards successfully organizing the event. He underscored the importance of team spirit in the field of production as well as sports for better performance and results.
Notably, 10 teams from Tata Steel, IISCO Steel Plant, Salem Steel Plant, VISL, Bhilai Steel Plant, Bokaro Steels Limited, Durgapur Steel Plant, Alloy Steels Plant, RINL and the hosts Rourkela Steel Plant participated in the Tournament.
DGM (Town Services) KK Sahu welcomed the gathering while Senior Manager (Sports) PL Bose proposed a formal vote of thanks. Senior Field Assistant Niranjan Samal coordinated the programme.
