Bhubaneswar, Feb 28: A young odia scientist couple has won the Tata Trusts-Harvard University South Asia Institute and Delhi Indian Institution of Technology innovation grant.
According to a communiqué from Project Director Harvard SAI –Tata Project visiting scholar Harvard Business School Dr Aseem Mishra and Dr Sumona Karjee won the competition held at New Delhi recently with their Project Prantae on Preclampsia.
The grant for the project will be Rs 5 lakh.
Notably, Dr Mishra is the son of senior journalist and Deputy Resident Editor of The Political and Business Daily Ajoy Mishra and Dr Karjee is daughter in law.
Dr Mishra had earlier won the London based Welcome Trust Foundation fellowship to conduct his research on at the New Delhi- based International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology on biophysical study of amylin aggregation in Pancreatic degeneration.
Dr Karjee is at present working as Social Immersion Innovation Programme Fellow DBT-BIRAC, KIIT –TBI.
As many as 27 groups participated in the competition in New Delhi.
