New Delhi, Oct 14: India and Bangladesh have held talks on mutual cooperation in the field of science, technology, oceanography, earth sciences and atomic energy.
Bangladesh delegation led by its Minister for Science & Technology Yeafesh Osman during visit to India met Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Dr Harsh Vardhan on Tuesday and discussed various sectors of Science & Technology including in the field of Atomic Energy.
India assured Bangladesh that it would get all the help in various sectors of Science & Technology including in the field of Atomic Energy. It was conveyed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given instructions to extend every kind of help as asked by the Bangladesh.
India and Bangladesh share a common cultural heritage and a special relation. Both the countries should identify various areas for cooperation in the field of Oceanography, Earth Sciences, in the field of Water treatment for Arsenic or in any other field for the benefit of people of that country, said Dr Harsh Vardhan. He recalled his meetings with various leaders of Bangladesh including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina when he had visited that country earlier.
Talking on the occasion, Yeafesh Osman said that his country is grateful to India for its support during its freedom struggle. He said that the recent resolution of boundary issue between the two countries shows the kind of extra ordinary friendly relations between the two countries, its leaders and its people. Osman said that Prime Ministers of both the countries are very keen for putting the Science and Technology to use for the benefit of the people and the cooperation in this field should further strengthen the bilateral bonds.
