The bail plea of godman Sarathi Baba alias Santosh Raula was on Friday rejected by the sub-divisional judicial magistrate (SDJM) court here today.
The court refused to grant bail to Raula after perusing the case diaries submitted by the crime branch police. Earlier last month a special court in Cuttack adjudicating exclusively matters pertaining to SC and ST (prevention of Atrocities) Act, had rejected the bail application of Raula.
Raula’s counsel Manas Chand said they would move higher court for the bail. Santosh was arrested by the state crime branch police on August 8 who booked him under sections 120-B, 420, 467, 341, 379 and 506 of IPC along with section 3 of SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, section 25 of Arms Act and section 7 of Religious Institutions (Prevention of Misuse) Act.
